Day 1 - Arrive in Delhi - Drive from Delhi to Manali (570 km/approx. 14 hours)

Upon arrival at the Delhi airport/railway station, a MHC representative will guide you to a designated vehicle. Board the vehicle and drive to the beautiful hill station of Manali, an abode of rolling hills and lush green surroundings. Owing to its vast expanse of lush greenery, pleasant climate and scenic environs, this place is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the country. The hill station of Manali is located in the valley of the Beas River. It lies about 40 km away from another picturesque hill station – Kullu. It is believed that this place has been named after Manu, considered to the lawgiver of the Hindus. There is an ancient temple, devoted to Lord Manu in Manali.

After reaching Manali, check-in at the hotel and take some rest. Thereafter, you can spend your time in leisure activities by visiting the local markets, especially the Mall Road to shop for various items this hill station is known for. You can also go to the Tibetan Market and Old Manali market to learn about the lifestyle of this quaint town. Some of the things that you can opt to buy in Manali are woollen wear, wall hangings, Buddhist artefacts and paintings, small idols of Lord Buddha, carpets and shawls.

Later, retreat to the hotel and enjoy a comfortable overnight stay.

Day 2 - Trip to Rohtang Pass ( On Direct Payment)

The next morning, gear up for an enthralling trip to Rohtang Pass, which is also known as Rohtam Pass. Owing to its picturesque surroundings, this pass serves as an ideal picnic spot for tourists and people from nearby areas. Surrounded by soaring snow-capped mountains, this pass is about 51 km away from Manali and remains remains open June to October; the rest of the year, it remains closed due to heavy snowfall.

Situated at a height of 3978 m above sea level, it is considered as one of the highest motorable roads in the world. This glacial paradise is frequented by hordes of travellers from across the globe every year. If you are an adventure seeker, then you can indulge in different snow activities, such as paragliding, skiing and mountain biking over here. Otherwise, you can choose to enjoy the stunning views of the snow-clad peaks, glaciers and scenic vistas of this pass.

Thereafter, return to the Manali in the evening and visit the Mall Road, which is lined with several shops, offering items like traditional handicrafts, woollen wear and other local items. In this market, you can also shop for souvenirs for your loved ones.

After this enjoyable and memorable tour, return to the hotel for a comfortable overnight stay.

Imp Note – Rohtang Pass visit will be subject to NGT permission (National Green Tribunal). Alternate sight-seeing will be provided in case of any deviation !

Day 3 - Sightseeing in Manali

Next day, leave the hotel in the morning to explore the local attractions of Manali, such as Vashisht hot water springs and temple, Manu Temple, Hadimba Temple, Arjun Gufa, Club House, Nehru Kund and Tibetan monasteries.

Vashisht is a tiny village that lies towards the Rohtang Pass on the left bank of the Beas River. This place is famous for its ancient temples and hot springs. Here lies a stone temple of Vashisht Muni (sage) that has a shape of a pyramid. There is another temple nearby that is devoted to Lord Rama. The popular hot sulphur natural springs at this place receive a lot of visitors year round as it is believed these waters can cure skin diseases.

Manu Temple is an ancient shrine that lies a few kilometres away from the main market of Old Manali. This temple is dedicated to Lord Manu, who is considered to the creator of human race on the earth as per the Hindu mythology. Devoted to Goddess Hadimba, the Hadimba Temple is said to be built in AD 1533. This shrine has a pagoda-shaped four-tiered roof and a doorway, on which carved are legendary symbols and figures.

Arjun Gufa lies about 4 km from Manali near the village of Prini. It is believed that Arjun, a character from the epic Mahabharata, had meditated. Another place worth-visiting in the city is the Club House, which boasts of indoor games facilities, where you can enjoy a range of games. This place is quite popular among locals as there are many picnic spots nearby.

Towards Leh on the national highway lies Nehru Kund, which has been named after India's first Prime Minister. In addition to all these places, you can visit the famous Tibetan monasteries of this destination - Gadhan Thekchoking Gompa and Himalayan Nyingamapa Gompa, which are thronged by devotees all throughout the year. The architecture and traditional art forms of these sacred shrines are truly mesmerising.

After spend the day in sightseeing, spend the evening in leisure activities. You can either stroll on the quiet roads of the town and feel the freshness in the air, while witnessing the soaring snow mountains in the backdrop. You may visit the local market one last time to enjoy local delicacies and shop for souvenirs.

Thereafter, return to the hotel and enjoy an overnight stay.

Day 4 - Drive from Manali to Chandigarh (325 km/approx. 8 hours)

The following morning, drive from Manali to Chandigarh, which is a union territory and capital of two states - Haryana and Punjab. Also referred to as the first planned city of the country, Chandigarh lies at the foothills of the Shivalik range of the Himalayas. The name of this place has been derived from the name of the temple of Hindu goddess, Chandi that is located near this vibrant city. This place is famous for being home to few wonderful architectural structures, which have been created by some renowned architects, such as Maxwell Fry, Le Corbusier, Jane Drew and Pierre Jeanneret. Chandigarh is also known for its tranquil environs, lush greenery and shopping arcades.

Upon arrival in Chandigarh, complete the check-in formalities at the hotel and relax in your room for some time. Thereafter, you may go on a sightseeing trip of the city to visit its popular attractions, such as Capitol Complex, Sukhna Lake, Rock Garden and Open Hand.

Capitol Complex is a government building that was designed by the great Le Corbusier. It is situated in Sector 1 of Chandigarh and houses buildings of the High Court, the Secretariat and the Legislative Assembly. Earlier, it was the seat of the Punjab Government; however today, it is the headquarters of both the governments of Haryana and Punjab. Some time back, there were speculations to build a fourth building as part of the Capitol Complex and was to be named Raj Bhavan; however, no concrete steps have been taken in this regard. The three buildings in this complex have a splendid architecture and are symbolism of the city's fast growth in recent years.

The man-made Sukhna Lake, situated at the foothills of the Shivalik range, has a 3-km shoreline. It was built in the year 1958, after a dam was built across a seasonal stream - Sukhna Choe that flowed from the Shivalik hills. The highlight of this place is its beautiful surroundings and cool breeze, making it a popular picnic spot. Sport activities, like water skiing, yachting and boating are on offer at this lake.

Built by Nek Chand, an artist and former road inspector of the Chandigarh Engineering Department, Rock Garden is a masterpiece that was formed from urban and industrial waste. Established as an open-air exhibition hall, it houses many items made porcelain, metal wires, auto parts, mudguards, frames, etc.

Open Hand is a 14-metre high and 50 tonne structure that was designed by Le Corbusier. Made of metal sheets, this giant hand symbolises unity and peace and serves as the emblem of the city of Chandigarh.

Alternatively, you can pay a visit to its famous markets, such as the shopping arcade of Sector 17, also called as as the City Centre.

After this exciting jaunt of the city, return to the hotel and get a comfortable overnight sleep.

Day 5 - Drive from Chandigarh to Delhi (250 km/approx. 5 hours)

Check-out from the hotel and drive to Delhi airport/railway station to board your return flight/train.
